A FORMER Uttoxeter pupil has returned to her old school to teach young people the art of playing netball.
Allie Bryan has returned to Thomas Alleyne’s High School, in Dove Bank, to teach pupils the sport in an ‘all ability’ netball club.
The aim of the netball sessions are based around fun and exercise as well learning new skills or coaching existing netball skills.
The club is looking for pupils aged between eight and 18 but Miss Bryan is looking to expand on this.
She is hoping to open a senior section from 18 upwards in the near future.
During the sessions at Thomas Alleyne’s, mini tournaments and games against each other are held.
Miss Bryan told the Advertiser she hoped the club will lead to the pupils joining a competitive netball league at clubs in the area.
The sessions are run at school from 5.30pm to 6.30pm for pupils aged eight to 11 and 6.30pm to 7.30pm for 12 to 18 year olds.
The new sessions cost £1 for each pupil and are held in the sports hall of Thomas Alleyne’s High Schools every Friday evening.
Miss Bryan said that anyone interested in joining is welcome to come along to one the sessions.
