YOUNGSTERS in Uttoxeter have been fine tuning their singing voices after starting a new choir and more people are being invited to get involved.
The all new Uttoxeter Youth Choir has now been rehearsing regularly since Christmas and is run by professional musicians from Entrust Music and Performing Arts Services.
The members meet once a week at Windsor Park Middle School, in Springfield Road, from 4pm to 5pm every Thursday during school term time.
The singers are aged between nine and 15 and attend the middle and high schools in Uttoxeter.
A spokesman for the youth choir said: “Our repertoire continues to expand as we enjoy singing a wide variety of songs from folk to pop.
“Our weekly rehearsals are lots of fun but at the same time, the pupils are improving their singing, gaining knowledge in voice and tone production whilst learning valuable performance skills.
“We are hoping to perform at local venues and are looking for an opportunity to give our first performance soon.
“New members are always very welcome, and with no audition process, just come along and start singing with us.”
Caitlin Sweetland, who is a member of the choir added: “It’s a really good singing choir with fabulous, enthusiastic pupils.”
