A BUDDING film director from Uttoxeter is crowd-funding to make a psychological thriller.

Elliot Bell and his team are hoping for generous Uttoxeter people to come forward and support their independent film-making, and contribute towards the £5,000 total which they will need to make before they start work on Brink.

The idea for the film was born three years ago, and will follow the story of a young woman, dealing with the psychological effects of being alone.

Elliot Bell, director, said: “We are a group of students wanting to make a film.

“After three years, writing and developing the idea and script, it was time to take action and make stuff happen.

“This isn’t your typical student horror-thriller film - it’s much more than that.

“Whereas steroetypical horrors focus on the gore and blood - which is what society is now used to - we aim to show a more meaningful and purpose-driven side by taking the audience away from the situation and placing them in an psychological state.

“To create this film at least £5000 is required to cover the cost of equipment hire, cast and crew, catering, transportation and location hire.

“Even if you aren’t quite sure about us you could at least contribute £1 to our efforts and become part of our project - just by being a sport and giving a little; because every little bit helps.

“If we don’t reach our goal, although we very much hope we will, the project will still go ahead - although there will be cutbacks.

“So, why is our project important? Well, not only will you supporting this project. but you’ll be helping us create our first stepping stone into our future careers.”
