THOUSANDS of lovely ladies have flocked to the town’s racecourse in all their finery to bask in scorching temperatures and have a flutter on some top quality racing action.
The popular Ladies’ Night at Uttoxeter Racecourse always proves a hit with punters and the combination of stunning weather and great races over the fences meant this year was no exception.
This year ‘several thousand’ woman glammed themselves up with their best dresses, accessories, hats and fascinators while enjoying all that the racecourse had to offer.
Throughout the evening the women dressed to impress with a chance of winning prizes for Best Dressed and Best Hat.
They were also treated to live entertainment from popular tribute act Black Eyed Peaz after the racing had finished as well as the now ‘famous’ PIMM’s garden.
Seen among the ladies enjoying the races was popular jockey Tony McCoy, also known as AP McCoy, who is a well known face down at the Uttoxeter course.
David MacDonald, executive director of Uttoxeter Racecourse, said: “The weather helped make this year’s event a memorable evening with several thousand staying after racing to enjoy the entertainment on a really warm evening.
“I have not known a year like this at Uttoxeter Racecourse with so many big events following one another.
“No sooner has Ladies’ Night finished than we have to focus on our Living Live event next weekend, then the Summer Cup followed by Ladies day on Friday, July 29.
“The ladies can be really proud of the effort they made. There were so many stunning dresses and such beautiful colours everywhere on the racecourse. “
