Tom Odell on tour

Written byJonn Penney

Winner of the 2013 Brits Critics's Choice award, London born Tom Odell started out as a classically trained pianist, before turning his hand to more contemporary material.

Growing up, he found himself influenced by classic piano singer-songwriters Elton John and Billy Joel, along with the blues, folk and rock sounds of Tom Waits, Dylan and Springsteen. The end result is a powerful and emotional pianist and performer, following in the footsteps of Ed Harcourt with subtle hints of Jeff Buckley…

Tom Odell will embark on his third full tour of the UK in February 2014. The series of dates includes a night at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Sunday 9th February 2014.

Earlier this month Tom’s critically acclaimed debut number 1 album, ‘Long Way Down’ went gold. He also supported his hero Elton John at The Roundhouse in London as part of the iTunes Festival 2013. His new single ‘Grow Old With Me’ is out now and you can view the accompanying video below.

Tom embarks on his second headline tour of the UK on October 11, which includes two sold out nights at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London. Full tour dates can be found by clicking here.

Tickets priced £19.25 (£17.50 ticket + £1.75 booking fee) are available from Midland Box Office: 0870 320 7000 or online at www.wolvescivic.co.uk (limited to 6 tickets per transaction).
