PINK Floyd fans are in for a treat when The Victoria Hall plays host to one of the UK’s top Tribute Bands, UK Pink Floyd Experience.
The nine-piece UK Pink Floyd Experience replicates the line up of the full live Pink Floyd touring band of the late 80’s and 90’s.
With state-of-the-art sound and a spectacular light show, the aim is to perfect the atmosphere of the great Pink Floyd in concert.
Songs from Dark Side of the Moon through to Division Bell are featured, so fans of all ages will find something from their era.
The nine band members are all seasoned musicians and include a choreographed and costumed three-girl backing vocal section.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Paul Andrews fronts the band and has a voice that is remarkably similar to David Gilmour’s.
Paul has worked hard to perfect his vocal delivery aiming to replicate every nuance and intonation used by Gilmour.
Paul is joined by David Power on bass and Mike Bollard on second guitar.
Both David and Mike add their vocal talents to help create the big Floyd sound.
The three-girl backing vocal section is made up of Louise Beadle, an established theatre performer in her own right, Marie McNally, who also doubles on baritone and tenor saxophones, and Lindsay Martin, who has taken advanced vocals lessons from no less than original tour veteran Sam Brown.
James Archer has been enlisted on drums and percussion to hold down the Pink Floyd groove.
The band is completed by Dave Woodfield on piano and keyboards and founder member Neil Smallman on Hammond organ and keyboards, who, together, complete the lush Pink Floyd vibe.
Paul Andrews said: “From Eastbourne on the south coast to Stirling in Scotland, the autumn UK Pink Floyd Experience tour takes in most of Great Britain between now and the end the end of 2013.
“There is no excuse not to come to a show and get your Floyd fix with UK Pink Floyd Experience.
“We look forward to taking our nine-piece band out on the road this autumn and sharing the Floyd high with our audiences. We’re so excited.
“Also in this tour will be a small selection of shows where we will perform our smaller, five-piece band show, selecting songs from every 60s and 70s album to up and including The Wall.
“Whether you are a fan of the earlier 60s Barrett stuff, the classic 70s Waters stuff or the later 80s and 90s Gilmour stuff, we have something for everyone. It’s all Pink Floyd and it’s all good.”
