ONE of Uttoxeter’s fastest rising new bands are to perform a special charity show this weekend to celebrate the anniversary of their first gig featuring some very special guests.
It has been 12 months since rockers Anonymous played their first gig at Bradley House in Uttoxeter and they have not looked back since.
The band, made up of mainly Thomas Alleyne’s High School pupils, feature the sparky Charlie Kellit on vocals, Hayden Kirk and Rob Baynes on guitar, Luke Lawley on bass and Steven ‘Herbie’ Herbert on drums.
Anonymous now have regular repeat bookings on the pub scene and are also making a name on the bike rally circuit.
They play a popular mix of classic and heavy rock covers by the likes of Metallica, Green Day, Foo Fighters and Paramore in shows that the audience’s have loved due to the band’s high energy stage presence.
On Saturday the band return to where it all began for a special gig in which they have invited musicians that have provided them with help and inspiration over the last year to perform as well.
They include Ian ‘The Machine’ Rawlings and Mickey ‘Mad Dog’ Burton from renowned rockers Talisman along with Pod Malkin and Fred Hopwood from The Vice Bishops.
They will also be joined by the stunning Staffordshire-based singer Julia Mosley who the band are big fans of.
The singer-songwriter won the Staffordshire Popstars competition back in 2007 and has gone on to perform at venues such as the Symphony Hall, in Birmingham, and Victoria Hall, in Stoke.
She is a unique and ethereal talent whose music is influenced by the likes of Within Temptation, Tori Amos and Nightwish.
Anonymous manager Andy Hartshorne told the Advertiser: “This will be a one-off gig, the like of which may never be seen in the town again in aid of Rakemark Respite Care in Rocester.
“Anonymous and Rakemark would like to thank the generous local businesses that are sponsoring the evening.”
