VILLAGERS were out in force to enjoy a beer festival near Uttoxeter with entertainment for all the family.
The Weston Beer Festival saw around 500 people enter through the gates at Weston Village Hall at the weekend to sample some unusual beverages while enjoying a day out.
Attractions included children’s entertainment, acoustic music sessions in the day and live band Massive Surfboard in the evening.
The festival had 15 barrels of ale, four boxes of cider, 50 bottles of wine and 100 bottles of international larger.
Melissa Nightingale, one of the members of the Village Hall Committee, said: “It was absolutely brilliant and we had around 500 people attend throughout the day and night. We only had 32 pints and a few bottles of rose left at the end which was amazing, that is not even a barrel.
“The weather was really good to us and the food stall, Fire and Slice, was outside. As it was so warm the festival over spilled onto the car park which was great.
“It was a real family event with children’s entertainment and a Punch and Judy show which was bonkers.
“The music was really good as we had local musicians in the day doing their own thing and then a band in the evening so it was an all round fun and entertaining day.
“This is our second beer festival and we have now agreed to make this an annual thing. We also raised lots of funds for the village hall.”
