AN American style political debate is set to take place which will see Uttoxeter’s MP battle it out with the men looking to challenge during next year’s general election.
Burton & District Chamber of Commerce are opening up the stage for Andrew Griffiths (pictured), labour parliamentary candidate Jon Wheale and UKIP representative Michael Greene to allow the trio to be grilled on all manner of issues.
The event, which will take place at Hoar Cross Hall, will allow business leaders to quiz the people who could hold a big say in the future of business in East Staffordshire.
Chris Plant, director of Burton & District Chamber, said: “We will be hosting a political debate inviting prominent party candidates and the current MP for Burton and Uttoxeter to partake in debate with the local business community.
“The event will allow the local business community to raise questions to candidates about issues they wish to see addressed which affect their business and the local economy.
“The chamber will continue to rise to the challenge of sustaining the economic resilience our business community has demonstrated, and will persist with enthusiasm to deliver growth.
“We look forward to working with and supporting all of our members in the forthcoming year and ensuring that the chamber remains, quite rightly, as the areas number one support organisation.
“The event is being hosted at Hoar Cross Hall, a Grade II listed stately home retreat in Staffordshire that pairs period style with modern luxury and attentive service.
“At this unique sanctuary, friendly faces are assured, kicking off your shoes is expected and total relaxation is the order of the day.”
The event will be taking from noon on May 23 at Hoar Cross Hall, Maker Lane.
Entry costs £20 and between 50 to 70 delegates will be attending this event
There are no political affiliations with the event.
