TWO Uttoxeter men have been fined after owning a vehicle that did not meet insurance requirements.

Joseph Smith, 19, of Oakover Close, and Michael Hutchinson, 66, of Market Place, had it proved in their absence from court that they owned a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements. Smith committed the offence on February 5 and Hutchinson on January 30.

Burton Magistrates' Court fined them both £200, and told them to pay £110 court costs.

A second offender, Emma Lowe, of High Street, admitted before Burton Magistrates' Court stealing bottles of alcohol worth £49.50 from Sainsbury's, Burton, on July 21, and breaching a suspended sentence issued for shoplifting.

The 31-year-old was jailed for four weeks.
