A WELL-KNOWN film director who grew up in Uttoxeter has made a video promoting awareness of cancer.

BAFTA-winning team Shane Meadows and Mark Herbert have made a short film for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The video tells the story of the experiences of young cancer patients Amy and Ellie and aims to raise funds for the trust.

The short film is available to view on the Facebook page of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Those wishing to support the cause should text TEEN to 70300 to donate £3.

The charity provides support, information and comfort to the hundreds of young people diagnosed with cancer.

It aims to be there for every young person that needs help and support in their battle against the life-threatening condition.

100 per cent raised from the text donation goes towards the work of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
