UTTOXETER dancers have been showing what they are made of as they strutted their stuff at a regional championship.
Karizma Krew, which consists of dancers from Step 2 Dance, made their way to Fenton Manor to complete against performers from across the Midlands in the BDO dance championships.
The group proved they had what it takes to impress the judges after being awarded sixth place out of the 14 groups.
Each member of the group then took to the dance floor to compete with a solo routine in a bid to impress the judges.
One routine which did impress the judges was when Holly Civil took to the stage as she was awarded third place out of more than 40 other performers.
Another team member, Billy Goodall, also made it into the top 10 after he was awarded eighth place.
A delighted Aimee Byatt, dance teacher at Step 2 Dance, told the Post and Times that the group had worked hard in training to prepare themselves for the big competition.
She said: “I’m so proud of the team and they enjoyed every minute.
“This is only their second time competing in these big championships and they did amazing.
“We walked away with three trophies this year and the competition is hard as there are some great dancers about.
“The room this year was packed and double the amount of dancers entered. Well done Karizma Krew.”
Residents wanting to see for themselves some of the routines put together at Step 2 Dance are being invited to One Night Only at the JCB Lakeside Club, in Rocester.
The dancers will perform in two shows – one at 4pm and the other at 7pm – on Saturday, March 22.
Youngsters from just two-year-olds right up to adults will be performing to the audience on the night.
The show will also offer the audience the chance to see something a little extra with guest performers Brick City coming to the town all the way from London to entertain the crowd.
The famous dance crew competed on last years X Factor, a talent competition shown on ITV, and made it as far as back to the judges houses.
One Night Only has limited tickets available with only a few left for sale.
Tickets cost £10 and are available by calling Miss Byatt on 07985 576953.
The teacher added: “We would like to see people supporting Step 2 Dance and all these talented little dancers.”
