THREE talented dance troupes from a Uttoxeter middle school performed at a county dance showcase.
The high-energy, high quality dance performance by Oldfields Hall Middle School was part of an evening celebrating the abilities of young dancers across East Staffordshire.
Dance classes have proved ‘hugely successful’ at the school, with nearly a quarter of the school getting involved in the modern and street dance classes which started in the first term of this year.
Oldfields pupils from Year 5, Year 7 and Year 8 got the chance to perform to a live audience at the Brewhouse in Burton.
A spokesman for the school said: “East Staffs Dance Collective run the classes and each year all classes in East Staffordshire come together to perform.
“It was a fantastic evening and really gave the students chance to showcase their talents and grow in confidence.
“A brilliant night was had by all.
"More than 100 pupils from school take part in dancing and it's really popular.
"This is a big event for them."
The East Staffs Dance Collective is the arts team of East Staffordshire Borough Council working in partnership with a range of local organisations to create opportunities for young people to experience dance.
The borough council provides a dance pathway consisting or after school clubs, weekly classes, youth dance companies and additional performance and outreach projects making dance accessible to all young people in the borough.
