THE Advertiser has been turned into a tasty treat to help in the celebrations of a milestone birthday.

Wendy Humphreys made the cake featuring The Advertiser’s front page to help Bill Watson, who she knows through Carol Bradbury’s tea dances, celebrate his 80th birthday in style.

He celebrated his birthday at the tea dance today held at Uttoxeter Town Hall, in High Street.

A little celebration to mark the milestone day was arranged by the dance co-ordinator Carol with the help of Mr Watson’s own wife Beryl.

Mrs Humphries decided to make The Advertiser the theme of the cake as it regularly advertises the tea dances which Bill enjoys with the other members.

Carol said the birthday celebration made for a fun day at the dance class.

She told The Advertiser: “It went really well and we had around 40 people turn out for the dance.

“When the weather is as hot as it is you do not expect as many people to turn up as they are outside enjoying the sunshine.

“Bill enjoyed his celebration at the tea dance.

“I think he was expecting something to happen as I am known to be a bit of a prankster so people just don’t know what is going to come next.

“I think that Bill also went out for a meal with his family to celebrate his birthday.”
