A POPULAR Uttoxeter tea dance has re-launched itself in style for 2014.
The dances run by Carol Bradbury at locations around the Uttoxeter area have been popular with the fleet-footed for years.
And, after a New Year’s break, Mrs Bradbury, who provides musical accompaniment on the keyboard, has launched back into her classes with a date at Uttoxeter Town Hall.
The musical maestro, affectionately known as ‘Twinkle Fingers’, is now encouraging anyone from in and around town who would like a go at dancing to come along to her upcoming events.
She said: ”The Uttoxeter tea dance was tremendous fun as usual.
“We had approximately 70 dancers of all ages, spanning from 55 to one dancer who is 92.
“Yes, we have young ones and recycled teenagers, but there are definitely no ‘old people’ in the classes.
“We would like to thank one member, Cathy, very much because she comes and does the teas for free and she is nothing to do with the town hall administration.
“Also, we’d like to thank Tony the caretaker, who did the door for us.
“All our welcome to the next event, but especially Uttoxeter people who want to meet friends and enjoy a dance and a cup of tea.”
The next dance is on March 10 at 2pm at the town hall.
Entry costs £3.50 and can be paid on the door.
