Town's fringe players given chance to shine

UTTOXETER Town's fringe players will have the chance to stake their claim to a shirt in tomorrow's away clash with Hanley Town Reserves in the Presidents Cup.

Manager Mark Grimley is expected to ring the changes after guiding the Oldfields outfit to the top of Division One in the Staffs County Senior League. He said: "It's a chance for other lads to step up. Some of the lads haven't played as much as they'd have liked to. There have been a few long faces but it's about being patient.

"They can see that we've been winning games. Players have had to bide their time but when the chance comes they have to take it."
