AN ALTON pub and restaurant has collected 2,000 cuddly toys after one of the barmen won them at a popular theme park.
Customers to The Piggery Restaurant at the Peakstones Inn are in for a unique surprise when they visit as more than 2,000 cuddly toys adorn the ceiling and walls.
Landlady Margaret Slinn told The Advertiser that the cuddly friends have become a talking point in the village and she received complaints when she tried to move them.
The 64-year-old said: "It was to do with me really the reason he started.
"I used to collect porcelain pigs and I used to give free annual passes to all my staff for Alton Towers.
"He won me some pigs and then he made a regular thing of winning toys as he realised he was good at it.
"It wasn't really a hobby just something he was good at.
"Sometimes he would go down every day to win toys.
"It's very unique and popular with adults and children.
"They're in the restaurant area.
"When I moved a few of them I actually got complaints about it and had to put them all back."
