This week I wanted to share you with you a query I had from one of the readers of my blog. I am sure many of you will be thinking of planning your wedding for next year so I wanted to discuss how to bring the outside into your Summer Marquee Wedding.
We’re getting married next July and are planning a summer-inspired do. We’d like to spend most of the day outside in the grounds of our venue, but are having a marquee just in case the weather turns bad. Do you have any suggestions on how we can decorate the marquee to incorporate our theme in case it does rain?
First of all having a back up plan for the weather is absolutely the correct thing to do!
I would suggest you bring summer inside the marquee by decorating the tables with mismatched vintage crockery to give a relaxed and tea party feel to the décor. For centerpieces fill various size glass jars randomly with summer flowers such as sweet peas, they will smell fantastic.
Use pastel coloured table runners to give a summer look and feel. Name the tables after wild flowers such as Blue Bell and Daisy. Dedicate an area inside the marquee where you can place garden games such as Giant Jenga and Connect 4 for instance, that the children or adults can play with.
Placing bales of hay inside the marquee with brightly coloured blankets that guests can relax on will make people feel very summery. Alternatively use large brightly coloured bean bags or cushions that can be scattered about for lounging.
Pastel bunting is inexpensive and looks beautifully summery hung throughout the marquee. For the evening add masses of tea lights to give a chilled summer romantic feel.
September is the time that many couples start to kick-start their wedding plans for the coming year. Wedding fayres are in full swing now too. You may get inspiration for your décor by visiting one near by to you, why not take a look at the list of Wedding Fayres in Staffordshire to see which ones you fancy.
This Sunday I will be at the Leicester Wedding Exhibition. If you want to come and get the inside track on Budgeting, Choosing your Venue and Top Wedding Planning tips come and see me. Not to mention meeting many top class suppliers.
Until next time, happy planning.
