ROB Walker has been crowned Rear Wheel Drive champion at Trent Raceway for the fourth successive year.
The Rocester driver finished third in both heats on Sunday before taking the runners-up spot in the final.
First out was Terry Wood who gained a brace of second-place finishes before an electrical fault ended his day’s racing
In the Novice section Katie Thacker and Sam Barker were in A class action.
Both were up against faster cars and gave good accounts of themselves. In the first heat Katie was leading before being spun out and forced to retire.
She suffered a repeat in the second heat while Sam was in front with only a half a lap to go before being overtaken, but still finished an excellent second.
In the final Sam followed up with a creditable third-place finish.
The B class saw Lexie Genders and Josh Wells battling for points.
In heat one Josh recorded his first ever race victory with Lexie fifth.
Josh was second in the next heat and repeated that feat in the final. Lexie posted a second fifth-place finish in the second heat before taking fourth in the final.
In the Front Wheel Drive championship battle Adam Durose led the opening heat for five laps before spinning out.
Lukre Durose capitalised to come home second. Billy Richardson was fourth. Adam Durose took victory in the next after leading from start to finish.
Luke Durose and Richardson were second and fourth respectively. In the final Luke Durose was the only local points scorer, finishing fourth.
Charlie Thacker, aged 15, was competing in the Ladies section and claimed an excellent second in the opening run.
Thacker started at the back of the grid in race two, but came through to record another win.
Another second followed to leave Thacker just three points away from clinching the championship.
Rob Walker won the opening Superstox heat with Lee Fowell fourth. Walker retired in the next with Fowell fourth.
Fowell followed up with a second-place finish in the next.
Racing continues on Sunday, September 19 at Trent Raceway from noon.
