UTTOXETER RFC boss Donald Hayes is urging his players to get revenge on Clee Hill at the weekend.
The table-topping Town side lost 3-0 at the Shropshire outfit in October — and Hayes admits he underestimated them.
Now, he wants to see a determined performance from his young side at Oldfields on Saturday, kick-off 2.15pm, as they look to increase their stranglehold on Midlands Four West (North).
“We host Clee Hill and have got a point to make as we aim to make amends for our loss there earlier in the season,” said director of rugby Hayes.
“We underestimated them when we played them and we’ll not allow it to happen again.
“We’ll be concentrated, focused and fired up with the aim of taking all five points.” Hayes wants to see an improvement from his promotion-chasers, despite their 45-0 destruction of basement outfit Telford Hornets on Saturday.
“Five points away from home in the league and it’s happy new year all around,” said former front row man Hayes, who is plotting an immediate return to Midlands Three after relegation.
“We have not travelled that well this season so it was good to get a big total on the board.
“However, there is some rustiness that needs to be stripped off.
“Some unforced errors need to be tightened up on and some indifferent decision making that must be nipped in the bud.”
