UTTOXETER Dominoes took a point off Uttoxeter & District Sunday League Division Two leaders Robin Hood with a battling performance in Bramshall.
The game started in cagey fashion, with both sides testing each other out in the opening 10 minutes.
Robin Hood took the lead on 12 minutes through Aaron Lakin.
This was the wake-up call the Dominoes needed and they then stepped up the tempo before half-time.
Dominoes then equalised through Harry Tinson, who drifted into the left hand side of the box and drilled in an excellent equaliser at the far post.
The visitors battled for every ball and covered every blade of grass to play out the draw.
Manager Martin Banton said: “Every Dominoes player knew they had a job to do and did they do it well.
“We’ve got to give some credit to the opposition – they came into the game undefeated, having won their opening four fixtures, and we can now see why.
“We turned up the heat and took a point in their back yard, which not many teams will do this season.”
The ADT and Peter Stott Haulage and Plant Hire man of the match was awarded to Jon Ainsworth.
