UTTOXETER Dominoes completed the double over Cheadle Town in Division Two of the Uttoxeter & District Sunday League.
The Dominoes made it 10 matches unbeaten as they swept Town aside for the second time this season.
Manager Martin Banton said: “The way the lads started the game today I would never have believed we sat second in the league.
“It was awful to say the least, but the lads knew it.
“They had to dig deep and the way they set about getting back into the game after one or two choice words at half-time really impressed me.
“We look forward to competing against Cheadle Town again this week at their place in the cup and having completed the double over them in the league, although anything is possible in a cup match, I’m confident we’re capable of a decent result again.”
Simon Pelling gave Town the lead on 35 minutes but it took just five minutes for Liam McKay to level. Tom Magness scored just before half-time to give Dominoes the lead.
It was 3-1 within minutes of the restart as Steve Whitehall cracked one home and 10 minutes late McKay grabbed his second of the match to make it 4-1.
Whitehall got his second on 70 minutes before Town’s Damion Smith scored a consolation near the end.
