A SNIFFER dog charity has funded new radios for Staffordshire's Search and Rescue Dog Team.

Sniffer Dogs UK & International (SDUKI) presented volunteer dog handlers at Staffordshire Search and Rescue with a cheque for £780 for three Motorola radios.

The charity is raising money in aid of police dog units and SAR dog teams.

Postman and volunteer handler Dave Barley has raised search dog Red – a three-year-old border collie – since he was eight-weeks-old and Red is now Staffordshire's only graded rescue dog.

More information on the sniffer dogs team is available online by visiting the sniffer dogs or search and rescue websites at www.sduki.org.uk and www.ssart.org respectively.
