AFTER months of line-learning and rehearsals, a cast and crew of more than 100 pupils from a Marchington school lifted the curtain on the end-of-year production.

Denstone College Preparatory School at Smallwood Manor performed the international musical hit, Annie to friends and family.

Year 6 pupils took the lead roles in the performance, with budding actors Ella Hurley as Annie, Phoenix Pate as Oliver Warbucks and Ella Parkinson as Miss Hannigan. The youngsters were accompanied by a supporting cast of children across Years 2 to 6, resulting in a superb performance of the classic musical production.

Sally Moseley, drama director and deputy head teacher, said: “We couldn’t be more proud of all the pupils involved in this year’s dramatic production, both on and off the stage. This has proved to be our most impressive show yet, with plenty of song and dance numbers, all of which have been performed with dedication by the young cast.”
