Police appeal for witnesses after A50 collision

POLICE are appealing for information following a serious crash yesterday morning involving two tankers.

Staffordshire Police is asking for those who witnessed the crash just before 6.50am on the A50 Eastbound, just after the roundabout with the A521 at Blythe Bridge to come forward.

One of the drivers, a 65-year-old man from Talke, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with suspected serious injuries and is in a stable condition.

Following the collision the stretch of the A50 was closed until 1.50pm. As a result routes around the area were also affected.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Matt Lovatt at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 81 of April 10.
