Pensioner dies following three vehicle RTC

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a three-vehicle collision near Uttoxeter. 

Harry Deville, of Stowe-by-Chartley died of his injuries at Stafford Hospital after the collision on the A518 between Uttoxeter and Loxley at approximately 5.45pm on Wednesday, November 21.

The 87-year-old was taken to Stafford Hospital by ambulance and at the time his injuries were not believed to be life threatening. However, his condition deteriorated and he passed away during the morning of Wednesday, November 28.

He was the driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra which was in collision with a blue Isuzu Trooper and a blue Audi A3. The drivers, a 57-year-old man from Uttoxeter, and a 53-year-old woman from Stafford, were not injured. 

Mr Deville’s family are aware of his death and specially-trained officers are offering them support.

Witnesses are asked to phone Sergeant Ian Revans at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 580 of November 21.
