A MUSEUM near Uttoxeter celebrated a national campaign helping children to engage with history with a pyjama party.

Sudbury Hall Museum of Childhood held the pyjama party and camp out for the Night at the Museum campaign as a new and accessible way to allow children to enjoy the museum’s offerings.

Kathryn Ralls, press officer at Sudbury Hall, said: “It was very successful.

“We had about 40 people sleeping over in the stable yards, and about 200 or 300 people attended the event overall.

“The event was held for Museums At Night, a national campaign led by Culture 24 for culture and heritage organisations to do something special during the evening.

“Everyone dressed up in pyjamas and we had storybook characters telling stories using puppets. We had games in the stable yard and a Night Hike.”
