PLANS have been submitted for a development in a village near Uttoxeter including a wellbeing centre and holiday wig wams and chalets.
The Raddle Inn, in Quarry Bank, Hollington, have submitted the ambitious plans to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
The application proposes the construction of a Wellbeing Centre containing a reception area, a small shop, beauty treatment room, gym area, aerobic and yoga rooms with toilets.
The plans also include the installation of three wigwam cabins and three chalets to complement the pub’s existing holiday lets.
The applicant reports that he has experienced an increase in demand for the existing chalets which he cannot fulfil. He says employment opportunities would also be created by the plans.
Hollington has suffered in recent years without a village shop and the proposed facilities at the Wellbeing Centre would be open to villagers, with the shop selling milk, bread and other daily requirements.
A decision on the plans is due in April.
