A UTTOXETER travel agent has won yet another prestigious award.
Just a few months ago, Journeys a la Carte was named the best travel agent in the country by the Guardian and Observer for the fourth time since 2008.
Now it has taken home the Association of Independent Travel Agents (AITO) award for best agent in the central and east region.
Owner Margaret May said that she was absolutely delighted with the Journeys team’s latest accolade.
She said: “Getting the right holiday for our clients is paramount and the girls work incredibly hard to ensure this.
“They really are all stars I am very proud of them.”
With the company relying almost purely on word of mouth to grow its client base, it has been handed another boost in the form of a regular broadcasting slot on BBC Radio Derby.
To date, company representatives have discussed holiday options in the Canary Islands and Mexico and will soon be talking about Greece.
Journeys is one of the major Uttoxeter business success stories of the last decade.
Ms May started the company ‘from her kitchen table’ just 15 years ago.
Since then, she has driven her staff to ‘go the extra mile’ for customers.
She said: “I think we’ve developed a strong reputation through the excellent, reliable service and attention to detail our staff provide.”
