STAFF at Uttoxeter’s Boots store have collated more than £250 during a day of charity fund-raising.
The High Street store’s workers donned colourful wigs - red to represent the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and green for Macmillin Cancer Support.
Store manager Julie Redfearn has praised employee Louise Glass for coming up with the idea.
She said: “Louise has just been nominated for an award for her charity work.
“She made us all aware it was NHF day and we thought we’d collect for Macmillan as Boots’ number one charity too.
“We had an auction and local businesses donated some great prizes.
“I think our efforts were rewarded days after the event when we were made Boots’ store of the week.
“I’m so proud of all my staff.”
