MOTORISTS and pedestrians have had to be wary of falling trees in and around town.

Police have reported trees that were blown down in horrific winds that have engulfed much of the UK today.

Drivers using Hollington Road, in Stramshall, and Cheadle Road, in Uttoxeter, had to proceed with caution as oak trees came down.

Elsewhere, Leasows farm have seen a tree block the bridge used to access the property.

Villagers in Leigh have also reported their electricity being cut off.

The worst-affected areas of the UK have been Scotland, where residents have had to also contend with snow, and coastal areas of the country.
