Three people taken to hospital after car hits tree

THREE people have been taken to hospital after a road crash near Uttoxeter.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident in Highwood, Uttoxeter at approximately 9.45pm last night.

Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic area support officer and a BASIS Doctor were dispatched to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a single car that had been in collision with a tree.

“Three occupants from the car were treated at the scene by ambulance crews.

“The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 20’s, and the rear seat passenger, a man of similar age were treated for minor injuries.

“The front seat passenger, a man also in his 20’s, was treated for injuries to his hip, wrist and thumb.

“All three casualties were fully immobilised using neck collars and spinal boards before being conveyed to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.”
