FUND-RAISERS across Uttoxeter and the surrounding areas donned their funniest outfits as they celebrated 25 years of Comic Relief.
Red Nose Day inspired people across the town to wear their onesies to work, shine shoes, don crazy hair-styles or just wear something silly while selling cakes in a bid to raise valuable funds for the national event.
Schools including Picknalls First School, Oldfields Hall Middle School, Ryecroft Middle School and Windsor Park Middle School all saw pupils arrive in silly outfits, wearing their red noses, selling cakes and even saw teachers have their legs waxed to support the event.
Youngsters at Happy Hours Day Nursery, in Dove Bank, held a pyjamas party and made red nose biscuits throughout the day.
Businesses also got in on the action, with staff at Fat Boy Trim, at Gym and Tonic, wearing their onesies for the week and Francesco Group also wore their onesies while modelling their crazy hair styles for the day.
Indulgence coffee lounge, in Market Place, again saw staff showing their funny side as they wore some silly outfits for the day and also sold red nose cakes in a bid to raise some extra funds.
Advance Consultancy, in Church Street, held a red nose open day and coffee morning for comic relief and could be seen showing off their red noses throughout the day.
Clergy from St Mary’s Church and other churches in the town took to the Market Place to shine shoes to raise money £110.91 for Comic Relief.
This was then doubled so £222 will be sent to Comic Relief to help people across the world in need of help.
