Police appeal after road rage assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road rage incident which happened on the Uttoxeter to Tean road on Monday.

Generic online breaking newsThe incident happened between 1pm and 1.30pm on the A522 Uttoxeter Road near Fole Dairy after a road traffic collision between a red Citroen C3 and a skip lorry.

After the collision the driver of the skip lorry assaulted the Citroen driver, a 58-year-old man from Cheadle, and drove off towards Uttoxeter. The Citroen driver suffered a minor back injury but did not require hospital treatment.

The lorry was white with a yellow skip on the back. The driver is described as a white man, aged 35, 5ft 7ins tall with a stocky build. He had very short fair receding hair and wore a dark polo shirt.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, the assault, or saw either vehicle prior to the collision, is asked to contact PC Dave Stubbs at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 285 of November 12.
