Police appeal after ram raid in Uttoxeter

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a Uttoxeter business was ram raided.

Staffordshire Police said officers were called to a report of the incident at the Uttoxeter Garden Machinery, in Dovefields Industrial Estate, around 8.45pm on Sunday while the raid was still in progress.

It is believed it is the third time the business has been raided in the last three months.

Two vehicles were used in the raid – a white flatbed truck and a dark coloured Porsche Boxster.

The offenders sped off from the scene and the driver of the Porsche made two attempts to block the progress the car of officers arriving at the scene.

The truck was later involved in a collision with street furniture and was found abandoned over the boarder in Hilton.

Police said gardening tools manufactured by Stihl were stolen during the raid and officers are appealing for information to help recover them.

Anyone with information about the Porsche Boxster or the missing tools is asked to phone Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident 685 of 15 December or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
