HUNDREDS of people flocked to one of Staffordshire’s most traditional annual events believed to date back to pagan fertility rituals.
The dance, known around the world, started early in the morning as the dancers collected the six reindeer horns, each weighing between 16 and 25lbs, from their place in St Nicholas Church in the village.
The group then made their way through the village dancing along the streets before gathering at midday in the grounds of Blithfield Hall.
Crowds were up on the previous year as the historic dance continued to intrigue and delight visitors.
