AN ESTABLISHED law firm is set to fill the gap left by two solicitors' that went bust just weeks ago.
Bowcock & Pursaill, a legal firm, will move in to the old premises of Wilkins and Thompson who recently went into administration.
The office in Carter Street is the latest addition to the existing Bowcock & Pursaill offices which are currently based in Leek and at Festival Park, Hanley.
The firm will be offering vital legal services to the town, after people were left queuing for their files following the closure of Wilkins and Thompson and Glandfield and Cruddas
The two Carter Street solicitors practices went into administration after they were taken over by Newcastle law firm Hacking Ashton LLP.
The firms closed up shop suddenly, leaving clients uncertain about what would happen to their legal documents.
Managing partner, Ian Naylor, said the new Bowcock & Pursail office is due to open as soon as the office has been renovated.
Mr Naylor said: “We’re delighted to open a new office in Uttoxeter and be able to serve both businesses and individuals in that community, in addition to those in Leek and Stoke-on-Trent.
“We see this new office as a natural expansion for our firm, as the clientele of the area is very similar to those we already serve.
“Having grown up in nearby Marchington myself, my connections with the area go back a long way, so the new office also marks a welcome return to my roots.
“We will be investing a great deal in Uttoxeter, and we regard this as an exciting opportunity for our firm.
“We will be undertaking some redecoration, and as soon as the paint dries we hope to invite local businesses and people in officially to come and meet our staff and celebrate this new start with us.”
The new office will be able to offer a full range of legal services for both businesses and individuals, including specialist advice on farm property and agricultural matters, equine law, tax planning, wills and probate.
