Man arrested over fatal stabbing
Detectives have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a 47-year-old was stabbed to death at a block of flats.
The male victim was found with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen at an address in Peckham, south London, just after 7pm on Friday night.
He was taken to King's College Hospital but pronounced dead at 8.10pm, Scotland Yard said.
Officers had been called to the block of flats in Staveley Close, Peckham, following reports that a man had been injured in a fight.
A 46-year-old man was detained shortly afterwards in Old Kent Road and arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
Formal identification of the victim is still to take place and next-of-kin have not yet been informed of his death, police said.
A post-mortem examination will be held at Greenwich mortuary.
Detective chief inspector Graeme Gwyn is leading a police incident room at Lewisham as part of the investigation, Scotland Yard said.
