A 31-YEAR-OLD man damaged a police car and threatened to do the same again if he was not sent to prison, a court heard.
Craig Swingler, who did not have a fixed address, admitted criminal damage to a police carrier in Uttoxeter on August 15.
Helen Newport, prosecuting, told Burton Magistrates’ Court that Swingler was seen to be in the parking area of Uttoxeter Police Station, in Balance Street, and refused to move until he saw an officer.
He then told the officer he had scratched one of the police carriers and ‘calmly’ showed him the damage.
Mrs Newport added that Swingler had just been released from prison for a similar matter.
Swingler, defending himself, told magistrates if he was released, he would just go out and commit another offence.
When asked his address and if he wanted to go to prison he replied no comment.
Magistrates sentenced Swingler to six weeks behind bars, reduced from eight to take into account his early guilty plea.
