THE MP for Uttoxeter has revealed that 150 jobs have already been put up for grabs as part of his bid to try and cut unemployment.
Momentum Recruitment, from Marchington will be offering 40 welding and engineering jobs at a jobs fair organised by Uttoxeter MP Andrew Griffiths, which will aim to reduce unemployment in the area.
Mr Griffiths said that he is being ‘inundated’ by local businesses, large and small, who are keen to be a part of his third annual jobs fair held on September 13 at Pirelli Stadium, Burton.
Digger giant JCB are another firm who have thrown their backing behind the jobs fair by agreeing to be the event’s main sponsor.
He said: “I am so pleased to announce that already firms have pledged to advertise 150 jobs at the fair.
“Momentum Recruitment, from Marchington, will be offering 40 welding and engineering jobs.
“I am delighted to announce that JCB has again decided to back the jobs fair and come on board as our main sponsor.
“I am really excited that so many businesses have come forward to back the jobs fair.
“What is really good is that there are such a range of roles on offer for all sorts of people with different skills.
“I am hopeful that this variation will attract a whole host of people from all walks of life to the fair.
“Seeing big and small firms get behind an event this is great and is brilliant backing to business in the area.
“SuperGroup, who are behind the popular brand Superdry and who will soon be moving into The Duke Warehouse in Burton, are offering up a minimum of 30 jobs.”
