Written byBY JOANNA CRAIG

SUNSHINE, theme park rides and live music made for an extra special concert experience for those attending Alton Towers Live at the weekend.

Families and groups of friends were out to enjoy the heatwave, the theme park rides which included the newest attraction for this year - The Smiler, and the selection of exciting acts lined up with the likes of Little Mix, Labrinth and Olly Murs.

X Factor winner James Arthur opened the show with a number of acoustic pieces including LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It and his best-selling cover of Impossible.

Rizzle Kicks brought energy and fun to the stage, performing a selection of their singalong popular hits combined with some of their new tracks, which proved a hit with the crowd, as everyone was encouraged to ‘dance like kids’.

The atmosphere was electric as Olly Murs finished up the night with his explosive set, featuring Dance With Me Tonight which got everyone moving, Heart Skipped A Beat and recent chart hit Troublemaker.

It was announced on the night that Alton Towers Live would be returning next year with another exciting line up.
