UTTOXETER Racecourse has welcomed a bevy of beauties through its doors as it held the first auditions for Miss Staffordshire 2013.

Lovely ladies from across the county descended on the Wood Lane venue as they began their quest to receive the iconic title of Miss Staffordshire.

The current Miss England, Charlotte Holmes, will be at the Midlands Grand National raceday at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Saturday on a scouting mission for the competition.

Entries must be sent in before March 25 and any women who wish to enter can do so by visiting the racecourse’s website www.uttoxeter-racecourse.co.uk and clicking on the link for Miss Staffordshire to find the online entry form.

Final auditions will be held on March 25 and the competition itself will take place at Uttoxeter Racecourse on May 18.

Entrants must not be less than 17 years of age or more than 24 years of age on December 31, 2013.

Last year’s competition was won by Gemma Palmer from Meir Park, ahead of first runner-up Donna Shenton, from Fenton, and second runner-up Charnelle Merritt, of Newcastle.

Judges included the then older of the Miss England crown, Georgia Horsley.
