A UTTOXETER charity supporting children with special needs has received a welcome boost.

Rakemark Respite Holiday Club has received a cheque for £600 as the proceeds of this year’s Denstone Factor.

Sue McGarry, of Rakemark, said: “We are absolutely delighted that they have supported the charity for a second year. To have such support like that – particularly when it is local – shows we are being backed by the local community.

“Also the fact that my daughter won the event was even more brilliant. She attends Rakemark Respite as she has Down’s Syndrome so she will also benefit from the donation so it is a real double whammy for us.

“Hopefully this money will go towards a sensory room that we are providing for the children, with the money being spent on providing products for the sensory room.”
