CCTV images of wanted men released by police

POLICE have released images of a man they want to speak to after counterfeit money was spent in a Uttoxeter pub.

Officers from East Staffordshire Local Policing Unit have issued the images after the incident occurred at 5.15pm on Thursday, November 15 when a man entered Ye Olde Talbot pub, in Market Place, and attempted to pass a counterfeit £20 in payment for a drink. However, bar staff realised the money was counterfeit and the man then left the pub.

The same man then entered The Steeplechase pub, in Bridge Street, at 5.25pm and brought a drink with a counterfeit £20 note. He did not finish his drink and then hurriedly left with his change.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 556 of November 15 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

Officers have also issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with a fuel theft at the Esso petrol station on the A50 at Uttoxeter, on Monday, October 1 at 11pm. A man driving a blue Volkswagen vehicle, with stolen number plates, filled up with £67.06 worth of diesel before driving off.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police quoting incident number 808 of October 1.
