UTTOXETER’S very own Miss Staffordshire is preparing for catwalk stardom as she models for the designer responsible for Princess Diana’s wedding dress.
Beauty queen Jessica Landells, of Demontfort Way, is set to take to a prestigious catwalk wearing Elizabeth Emanuel outfits as part of a charity fashion show.
The 17-year-old, who came fourth in this year’s Miss England competition, will head down to Canary Wharf in London for the show on Friday, September 20.
She is among the 20 Miss England contestants chosen to take part in the show after being spotted taking part in the competition.
Miss Landells said she is looking forward to catching up with friends that she made while competing in Miss England.
She said: “I am just excited about it and think it is just like a fun get together.
“I think that it is a high profile event and it will be exciting to see all the clothes.
“I am also excited about meeting Elizabeth Emanuel.
“I have got in touch with some of the other girls I met and got to know at Miss England and they have been chosen as well.”
The Thomas Alleyne’s High School pupil has already sent over her measurements in preparation for the big day.
She was invited to take part in the show by the founder of the Miss England competition through an e-mail and jumped at the chance to follow in many a famous models well-heeled footsteps.
The e-mail said the girls had been chosen to take part by one of the organisers who saw them strut their stuff while taking part in Miss England.
The town beauty could also meet some famous faces along the way as top designers prepare to show their work.
Some celebrities may even show up in the audience to show their support.
Miss Landells added: “I am also excited to see who I will meet there as there will be different designers and maybe some famous people.
“I do get quite star struck though.”
The A Level pupil was named Miss Staffordshire after beating off stiff competition from across the county to a glittering ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse earlier this year.
