A UTTOXETER middle school took part in a ‘mega bake-a-thon’ alongside a day of wearing pink clothing, all for a good cause.
Windsor Park Middle School, in Springfield Road, took part in their annual bake-a-thon challenge, as well as wearing pink for the day to raise money for breast cancer care.
In ‘Windsor Park style’, house captains, pupils and Thomas Alleyne’s Ambassadors set about under the watchful eye of the Design Technology department for the monumental task of a full day bake-a-thon.
The kitchen was awash with enthusiasm, happy faces and dollops of cake mixture and toppings.
Head of Design and Technology at Windsor Park, Lisa Wilbraham-Jones, said: “It humbles me every year how our school community come together.
“Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends of Windsor Park donate ingredients to enable our bake-a-thon challenge to go ahead.
“We couldn’t achieve this without everyone pulling together.
“Well done to everyone who helped in however big or small a way.”
Pupils adorned in a range of pink clothing eagerly queued to buy some delicious cupcake treats.
Not only were funds being raised for cakes, office staff gathered change from pupils who decided to “Wear It Pink.”
A superb day was had by all and total funds raised stand at a fantastic £630.
