IT WAS announced a new restaurant opportunity will be available shortly adjacent to Costa Coffee in Uttoxeter’s flagship town centre development, as the official opening took place.
An official ‘opening ceremony’ was held as Carters Square developers Lingfield Securities PLC announced the development work is now fully complete and all units within this 75,000 square foot scheme are open and trading.
The regeneration of the area will strengthen the current retail offering within Uttoxeter and will bring further investment and employment opportunities to the local economy.
Lingfield Securities PLC has been working very closely with the East Staffordshire Borough Council to bring forward a viable and sustainable town centre retail scheme that has been carefully designed to complement the existing retail within the town and attract a greater footfall to the town centre as a whole.
Carters Square is one of only two new town centre retail schemes opening across the UK in 2014, providing important public space.
It will also create a new heritage legacy adding the Buntings Brewery Clock renovated by Doug Bowyer and incorporated above Costa Coffee’s unit and elevational refurbishment of the 1930 Electricity sub-station.
On Saturday, July 5 between 10am and 4pm a public event took place at Carters Square with a Brazilian World Cup theme.
A samba band performed alongside two carnival promotional staff and a free craft workshop for shoppers to enjoy.
