THE air ambulance charity covering Uttoxeter is set to benefit from a gala marking the end of a radio presenter’s weight loss challenge.
As previously reported, Uttoxeter resident and EMI Radio presenter Kate Copeland has embarked on a challenge to drop from a size 20 to a size 14 in just 10 weeks.
On the day she finishes her regime, March 27, Hoar Cross Hall will host the gala from 7.30pm.
Miss Copeland has been training at the resort’s gym with personal training Kynan O’Leary for eight weeks.
She said: “The challenge is going really well, but it has been some of the toughest weeks of my life.
“Im in the gym almost every night with Kynan. My diet has had to be so strict - no alcohol and hardly any carbs. I so miss having a pizza.”
“However, with all that said, I have managed to drop another dress size to a size 16 and I am very nearly at the goal size 14.
“None of my clothes fit at home, it looks like Im wearing some one elses wardrobe.
“Weigh in is tomorrow but I’ve lost nearly a stone and a half in nine weeks as it stands, as we’ve had to do it safely and also make sure its a weight loss I can sustain after the challenge.”
“Kynan has been really happy with the way the challenge has gone.
“I’m not the easiest person to deal with but he has been so patient and just managed to get the absolute best out of me.
“He has helped me make such a huge change in my life and for that I will be forever thankful.”
The gala is a public event and attendees can enjoy cocktails, a speciality buffet, live music and entertainers, games, a silent auction and a raffle.
Miss Copeland said: “Its going to be a great night for a very worthwhile charity.
“I have had some amazing support over the last few weeks but it will all be in vain if we dont hit that £5,000 target for the charity.
“The gala will show i’ve held up my end of the bargain and hopefully give people a great night out, as well as a good opportunity to contribute.”
Tickets, which cost £18, are available by visiting www.fitforfourteen.eventbrite.co.uk.
Miss Copeland’s specially-designed diet has seen her eating mainly cabbage soup.
