DOVE Valley Community First Responder Group would like to thank Tesco, Uttoxeter, their staff and customers for their generosity at a two-day collection held on December 23 and 24.
The total amount raised was £2,400.41p, a most generous sum which will go a long way towards helping many other people within our area of Denstone, Rocester, Uttoxeter and surrounding villages.
Since our formation in July 2006, the group has attended more than 2,500 emergency (999) calls and given 21,000 hours of availability to Staffordshire and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
We rely entirely on donations, grants, etc, to continue to offer our services, as we receive only drugs and consumable medical supplies from the ambulance service.
Everything else, the vehicle, fuel, servicing, insurance, medical equipment, squad suits, safety gear, etc. are funded in this way.
So once again, to Tesco, staff and customers, a very big THANK YOU and we wish you a happy and healthy 2012.
Community First Responder Cliff Bailey
