I WRITE as president of The Rotary Club of Uttoxeter to say a big thank you to the people of Uttoxeter for supporting our Santa’s Sleigh.
Whether at Tesco on the 17th, in the Maltings on the 24th or during our street collections your support has been tremendous enabling us to raise £3,000 for local and national charities.
The weather was quite kind to us allowing Santa and his helpers to cover more of the town than we have done previously. All the helpers commented that their efforts are well rewarded when they see the excited looks on the children’s faces.
All the money raised will go towards helping our annual charitable work which this year includes The Donna Louise Trust, Canine Partners, Smile Train and The Rotary Shelter Box Scheme together with other local and national charities.
Thanks once again and I hope Santa asks us to assist him next year in trying to see all the local children before Christmas.
